Suffering

This contemplative prayer station uses photography, allowing the pictures to move us to prayer for the suffering of others.
—————————————
Directions for leadership:
Find pictures that depict suffering… anything from recent natural disasters to a homeless person on the street to someone in a hospital bed. Hang the pictures up in such a way that people can see them easily, along with the following instructions.
—————————————
Directions:
The things that break Jesus’ heart should be the things that break our hearts. Look around at the various pictures of suffering. What emotion do you think they evoke in Jesus? What emotions do they evoke in you?
If you find sinful attitudes in your reactions, admit that to God.
If you have ignored the things God cares about, admit that to God.
Around this area are different organizations locally, nationally and internationally, that serve different areas of suffering. Please look at them and then choose one to pray for during you time at this station.
If you are moved to take action please take a card with web addresses and contact people.
“Real religion is this: Reach out to the homeless and the loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from this godless world.” James 1:27
