Memorization is a way to love God with all your mind. It also is something the bible fully endorses.

Directions for leadership:
In a sectioned off area place a table with chairs and enough bibles, concordances, pens, paper and other items that are helpful in memorizing. Place the following instructions around the table as well. Taylor the Directions as you need to for your given situation. Make sure it is well lit.

Directions:
“Guard my words as your most precious possession. Write them down, and also keep them deep within your heart.” Proverbs 7: 2- 3
Take some time to memorize God’s words. On the table is a list of several Bible verses for you to choose from. If you have a specific topic, such as fear or patience, and would like to memorize a verse that is relevant to that there is a concordance for your use on the table and several Bibles. If you do not know how to find verses in the Bible please go to the prayer ministry station and ask one of them, they will be happy to show you.
Listed are different ways in which you can memorize scripture:
1.Take a paper and pen and copy the verse over and over until you can write it with out looking.
2.Repeat the verse to yourself over and over again, either silently or out loud.
3.Create an anagram or a poem that makes the verse easier to remember.
4.Think of images that go along with each phrase.
5.Create a little song out of the verse.
6.Take a paper and pencil and write the verse. Then erase or cover a word and repeat the verse. Slowly continue deleting words out until you can say the whole thing with out help.
Why should we memorize scripture?
It helps to resist temptation.
“I have hidden your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Ps. 119:11
It helps in making wise decisions.
“Your Word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path.” Ps. 119:105
It strengthens you when under stress.
“…Your promises to me are my hope. They give me strength in all my troubles; how they refresh and revive me!” Ps. 119:49 (L![]()
It comforts.
“Your words are what sustain me…They bring joy to my sorrowing heart and delight me.” Jer. 15:16 (L![]()
God asks us to. “Guard my words as your most precious possession. Write them down, and also keep them within your heart.” Proverbs 7: 2-3
