Several years ago, the leadership team at the church I was a part of incorporated contemplative prayer stations into the worship gatherings on Sunday evenings. We would sit together in my living room once a week, planning and brainstorming. Then I would take the ideas and run, making prayer stations that would complement the other elements that made up our worship gathering. Although that iteration of church has come to an end, I still add stations to my collection every so often, and continue using them regularly.
I have also used the stations for events such as Ash Wednesday Service, youth gatherings, small group meetings, and even for a time of prayer during a Missional Ecclesiology class at a seminary.
For me, it is an experience that goes far beyond th
e joy of serving others. It is a way I am able to use my artistic talent to worship my maker. Helping others to worship, to be open to God’s spirit, to find their own creativity is both humbling and gratifying.
I also, at this creative juncture in my life, have been coming to grips with the fact that God has made me an artist. I am slowly building a body of work here at http://www.tangledlifestudios.com.
As for the finer d
etails: I have a Master of Divinity from George Fox Evangelical Seminary, have been happily married for many years with two amazing (if not rather energetic) little boys as proof of that, and live in the most beautiful place in the world (Grass Valley, California).
I hope this site has been and will continue to be usefull to all of you!
Peace and Grace,
Faith McCloud.
